ARTIST STATEMENT
We keep promises to our acquaintances and business dealings. Next are for closer friends. Important promises are reserved for family. Then there are oaths to ourselves; promises to protect our body, mind, and spirit from suffering. Often we forgo those deep promises to ourselves, a promise to care and center. When we remember to keep those pinky promises–with childlike sincerity–only can we begin to bloom out commitments from within, outwardly. First, to one’s family. Next to one’s friends. Eventually out to strangers, and making strangers into neighbors.
